Stylish finds at deep discounts: The Urban Girls Garage Sale
Feb 19, 2013
Get ready! The Urban Girls Garage Sale is coming, brought to you by three very stylish Seattleites including Darnell Sue of Girl Power Hour, Darcy Camden of Styled Seattle and Zong Her, a self proclaimed "Jill of all Trades" and savvy marketing professional. The idea for the Urban Girls Garage Sale came when Zong, an army reservist found out that she would be deployed to Afghanistan in April. Meanwhile, Darnell Sue was contemplating moving to France where her boyfriend just landed a new job. They both realized they had tons of high-quality items that they needed to get rid of in order to move but as city-dwellers had no space to host their own garage sale. Shortly after, the girls connected with Darcy Camden, founder of Styled Seattle. As a stylist, Darcy has helped hundreds of women clean out their closets, and together, the three friends created the Urban Girls Garage Sale."Who has a garage anymore?" says co-founder Darcy Camden, "Most urban girls are lucky to have a parking space! We wanted to give ladies in the Seattle area a chance to come together, sell their stuff and shop other people's treasures in an easy, stylish and fun way."

Seattle clothing line launches Kickstarter campaign
Feb 12, 2013
Last night Seattle-based clothing line TomboyX hosted a special launch party to debut their new clothing line aimed at women 40+ who want comfortable clothing that fits well without sacrificing style. Co-Founder Fran Dunaway came up with the idea for the line after several unsuccessful shopping trips that left her frustrated and annoyed with the limited clothing options on the market for active women over 40. The line came together with the help of entrepreneur Naomi Gonzalez and local fashion veterans including Barb Gauld and Vivian Miller-Rahl. The debut collection includes 4 main styles that embrace a playful, tomboy spirit including a classic oxford shirt, a french terry blazer and two styles of cotton polo shirts, each meticulously designed for the perfect fit. The entire line is made in the USA at a women-owned factory in Seattle and the Tomboy Exchange team plans to continue to supporting local manufacturing efforts with their clothing line.
